Celebrity Beauty Stalker, Alice Howard, talks to celebrity beauty guru Chelseé Lewis, about her life and work.

1. What is your skincare philosophy?

I believe we must all try and look after our skin as much as possible by having a fantastic cleansing routine and using products which work for you. Using SPF, having a healthy balanced diet, lots of water and exercise and regular beauty treatments to help purify, detoxify and balance the mind and body. Lifestyle and diet have a big impact on our skin.

2. Have you ever suffered from a skin complaint?

When I was a teenager I suffered from severe acne and my mother took me to a doctor on Harley Street where I had few treatments which helped my skin tremendously. My heart always goes out to anyone who has acne as a skin complaint as it’s our face and it’s very hard to cover up. Acne can really knock your confidence, so I will always do my best to try to treat this skin condition and if I can’t  then I will refer the client to a facialist who can.

3. What do you use on your own skin?

I use , Yon-Ka , Decleor and Eve Lom products which I highly rate and have used over the past 10 years.

4. What is your ultimate skin tip?

Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate! My devoted clients call me ‘The Exfoliating Queen’ and I just love doing this. Obviously in moderation once or twice a week. I love the way your skin looks so clear, even more fresher and it just glows!

5. How did you start as a beauty guru?

20 years ago I started my career working for Regis in the Debenhams store in Oxford Street which was a busy hair and beauty location. It was a rewarding time and I built so much experience, knowledge and worked with some very interesting people. Following this I worked with many of the well-known product houses including high-end beauty clinics.

6. You are a renowned facialist. Why did you choose to specialise only on skin?

I found my niche whilst working for a London clinic that specialised in facial treatments and i grew into becoming a dedicated and intuitive facialist. I love my work and to me it’s not like a job! I get to meet some fantastic people helping them to feel good and most of all to look good too! It is also important to educate clients on how to look after their skin. There are so many people that still don’t know how to look after their skin. And there are plenty of Women and Men  who have injectable procedures to look young but are not looking after their skin. My clients always receive a little skin education at each salon appointment and thank me when they see the visible results!

7. Tell us about your signature treatment.

My signature facial is Le Visage. It is a treatment which is tailor-made to the clients concerns and their individual needs. Included in this facial is my signature massage which is a lymph drainage and working on the pressure points of the face. This is one of the most important part of the treatment as it brings oxygen and nutrients to the skin and also detoxifies. I would always adapt the treatment to the clients skin concern on the day and they may have a micro peel incorporated in the treatment or Aqua Microdermabrasion. This facial is results driven treatment but also extremely luxurious and pampering.

8. How much do you charge and do you have any celebrity clients?

The cost of the Le Visage treatment is £120 and I am grateful for all my clients custom and In my eyes ALL my clients are stars! Yes, I can include; Stella McCartney, Gwyneth Paltrow, Erin O’Connor, Sadie Frost, Anna Friel and Jeremy Piven, to name but a few, visit me to take care for their skin, when they can.

9.What makes you stand out from the crowd?

I am just doing me. I think always stay true to yourself and being a nice person goes a long way.

10. How long is your waiting list?

At the moment if a client calls at the beginning of the week I will always try and fit them in.

11. Who has been your biggest influence in your career?

My family. My mother and my sister have always supported me in all my decisions and encouraged me along the way. And I was always told to follow your dreams and ‘You’ can be and do what ever you want to, just go for it!

12. You are such a busy lady; tell Celebrity Beauty Stalker readers how you relax.

I relax by watching DVDs and movies, exercising, relaxing dinners with a glass of wine. And having body massages  and acupuncture.

I also like to relax with meditation and also practice mindfulness.
